Strážnice Castle – originally a water castle, founded in the 2nd half of the 13th century, when the castle and town belonged to Milota of Dědice. It had a guard function (from which the town also takes its name). At the beginning of the 14th century, it was awarded to Vok of Kravaře as a reward. The estate was frequently targeted by raids from Hungarian and Turkish forces, later also anti-Hussite armies, which is why Jiří of Kravaře rebuilt it in the Gothic style and surrounded it with a rampart and moat; the remnants are preserved as the so-called Šance.
Jan Jetřich of Žerotín changed the castle’s face the most, rebuilding the castle into a Renaissance chateau with arcades, which lasted until the 19th century. Since the 19th century, it has been in the Neo-Renaissance style. The last noble owners were the Counts of Magni from the re-Catholicization after the Battle of White Mountain until the end of World War II. After that, the castle was nationalized by the state.
